All India Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) Announces 50% Reservation for Women Candidates
BENGALURU, March 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
The newly launched Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) has made all the right moves by announcing 50% reservations to women candidates in the upcoming elections across India.
The announcement was made by Dr. Nowhera Shaik, Founder and President of All India Mahila Empowerment Party, at a rally held at the Palace grounds, Bengaluru on 10th March, 2018. The move has been welcomed and applauded by one and all.
MEP will be fielding its candidates in all 224 constituencies, starting with Karantaka Legislative Assembly elections which will be held in April this year.
MEP is a secular party that believes in Justice with Humanity and aims to fight for women empowerment, democracy and equality of all citizens irrespective of gender, caste, creed, region, religion and social status.
MEP aims to fight against illiteracy, child labour, child abuse, and crimes against women for a better society.
Addressing the huge crowd at the rally, Dr Shaik said, "For 70 years, political parties across India have nothing but empty promises. Women are taken for a ride for their welfare and rights. Its high time women should take up the challenge. MEP has been founded with this agenda and has already taken a concrete step in this direction. Women have stood up against all odds and are confident that we will win. MEP is a party with a difference."
Dr. Nowhera Shaik, CEO of Heera Group, a conglomerate of companies headquartered at Hyderabad and businesses spread in India and Gulf, has forayed into politics after a successful stint in social welfare and business. MEP has been floated as she has felt a huge gap when it comes to delivering schemes and promises to the common citizens of India, especially women.
