Prof. Amit Sheth and Ms. Sharmila Sagara, among the leading Design educators in India, will join Anant National University, India's first Design University, as faculty members from July 2018.

Prof. Sheth is an Electrical and Electronics engineer from BITS Pilani, and a Post Graduate in Industrial Design from NID Ahmedabad. He is currently pursuing a PhD in inclusive wayfinding from IIT Bombay. Most recently, he was the Head of Department of Design at Nirma University, Ahmedabad, and visiting faculty at IIT Gandhinagar. With more than three decades of experience in teaching and having worked on over 300 projects in various fields of design, Prof. Sheth is essentially a tinkerer, who loves problem solving in multiple spheres and across diverse platforms, and is also passionate about design and design education.
Ms. Sharmila Sagara has a Master's degree in sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Vadodara, and has participated in group shows, curated exhibitions, contributed reviews in newspapers and art journals as an art critic. She was the head of the Kanoria Centre for Arts between 2001 and 2005. She was associate professor at CEPT University where she was founding faculty of Master's programme in art, design and communication at Faculty of Arts and Humanities, CEPT University. With more than 28 years of experience in teaching Art History, Art: Metaphysics, Manifestation, Materiality, Architectural traditions, she has also edited Ahmedabad 600: Portraits of a City, Marg Publication. She was Associate Professor at the Ahmedabad University, has taught at NID and Faculty of Fine Arts, M S University as visiting faculty.
