Anibrain School of Media Design's Showdown 2016 - Remarkable Gathering of Creative Talents Under a Single Roof

Design professionals and students from across the world had a thrilling experience in a competition of their stream known as Showdown 2016 which was organised by Anibrain School of Media and Design, Pune. The competition took place in February, 2016 and was divided into two categories - VFX and Game. It was a huge platform for amateurs and professionals to showcase their skills to the world out there. All the participants who applied for VFX 2016 received a common video footage online. Participants had to submit their footages within a month after receiving their footages. The contestants were judged by the top national and international experts in gaming & VFX industry. Some of them were Mark De Sousa - Executive Producer, Anibrain, Mr.Sankara - 2D Supervisor and Mr.Srikanth S - 2D Supervisor, Bot VFX.

Participants of Game Showdown 2016 were invited to present their best gaming concepts. They were judged by Mr. Erik Anton Egerup - Studio Art Director, Dhruva Interactive, Anand Jha - CEO - Nilee Games, Vijay Rakshe - Sr Designer - Nilee Games, Syed Abbas - Deputy Managing Director - UBI Soft, Martina Hugentobler - Game Designer and Artist at AirConsole, Francois Weber - full-stack Software-Engineer at AirConsole and Kinshuk Sunil (CEO, Hashtash games).

Total 200 aspirants participated in the competition and moreover, some of them were based out of India. Students from renowned institutes such as Arena multimedia, MAAC, Srajan Institute, backstage pass and reputed international schools across India participated in the event.

When Game Showdown first started in 2014, it witnessed a huge success. This segment of online gaming competition received tremendous response with over 110 entries in that year. With every passing year the competition levels grew in terms of participations and reach. Showdown 2016 also demonstrated some really impactful results not only from India but also from the global audience.

VFX Showdown 2016 had two categories - Student and Professional. Ramanuj Deka, Royal Global School (Guwahati) and SarathRaj (Arena Animation Annanagar, Chennai) have been declared as winners under the Student category. Sriram Seshadri (Bengaluru) and Rohin Shaikh (Srajan Institute, Pune) winners from the Professional category. Spot On (Arena Animation, Tilak road, Swargate) and Raging Tornadoes (Backstage Pass Institute of Gaming And Technology, Hyderabad) amazed the judges with their work under the Game Showdown 2016.
