Apex Professional University (APU) was recognized and awarded as the 'Fastest Growing University' for its contribution in value-based professional education at the recently held India's Pioneer Education Award 2017.
India's Pioneer Education Award 2017 function was held at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi organised by Corporate Council for Leadership & Awareness (CCLA). CCLA instituted these awards to felicitate and recognise the valuable contributions by educational institutions and universities across the nation for setting landmarks in the education sector.
Apex Professional University, Arunachal Pradesh won the prestigious award 'Fastest Growing University of the Year' for demonstrating overall excellence and significant contribution to value-based professional education synthesizing Bloom's Taxonomy with Gurukul traditions with a focus on employability.
According to a press release issued by the university, Acharya Dhanwant Singh, Chancellor, Apex Professional University (APU), Arunachal Pradesh received the award, including a certificate and a trophy from Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Government of India.
Receiving the award Acharya Dhanwant Singh, Chancellor APU, said, "All learning was closely linked to nature and to life and not confined to memorizing some information. The modern education system was brought to India by Lord Thomas Babington Macaulay in the 1830s. The curriculum was confined to 'modern' subjects such as science and mathematics and subjects like metaphysics and philosophy were considered unnecessary. Teaching was confined to classrooms and the link with nature was broken."
Apex Professional University intends to restore the Gurukul education system by integrating of Bloom's Taxonomy method of teaching and Information Technology. APU is also on an aggressive expansion mode with plans to introduce and promote Indian sciences such as ayurveda, astrology, naturopathy, yoga and vastu shastra to name a few.
