Arya Rajam's 'Blood, Sweat and Tears': a Poignant and Riveting Read

Arya Rajam is one of Chennai's most sensitive writers of her generation whose book, 'Blood, Sweat and Tears', has touched the hearts of many a reader. This book was a labor of love that began when Arya was merely 24 years old and reflects the introspection she has undertaken to produce such work. Arya has taken a leaf out of her own life in rendering the story of Zaria, the protagonist in the novel. Arya's travels and multicultural upbringing have lent a great deal of authenticity to Zaria's character, which is of an aspiring dancer who is of half Indian and half Russian descent.
