BML Munjal University Encourages Innovation for Economic Growth, Organises BMU International Innovation Conference - 2016

BML Munjal University (BMU), founded by The Hero Group, organized the BMU International Innovation Conference on 9th - 10th January 2016. The conference was organized in association with Imperial College Business School, Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland and Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University.
The two-day conference included multi-track sessions with participation of academia, industry and policy makers. Innovation experts from across the world gathered together to encourage dialogue between the research community, policy makers and industry. The conference provided a forum for exchange and dissemination of latest research studies and industry practices on the advances and developments in the areas of- Frugal innovation, service innovation, digital innovation, social innovation and business model innovation. The conference commenced with paper presentations by various faculty members and research scholars on the 9th January at the BMU's eco-friendly and state-of-the-art campus in Gurgaon.
The second day of the conference that concluded at India Habitat Centre on the 10th January, 2016, featured high level discourse by entrepreneurs, policy makers, and academicians on the subject of innovation. The Chief Guest was Dr. R A Mashelkar, Chancellor, ACSIR, Former Director General of CSIR. The conference was attended by renowned personalities in the field of innovation like Dr. Gerard (Gerry) George, Dean, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore and Editor - Academy of Management Journal; Dr. G. 'Anand' Anadalingam, Dean, Imperial College Business School, London; Dr. Sankalp Chaturvedi, Director, Gandhi Centre for Inclusive Innovation, Imperial College, Ravi Arora, Vice President, Tata Sons and many more who came forward to share their experiences and insights with the participants.

Acknowledging and appreciating participants on their endeavor, two best papers were chosen from each of the 4 identified themes for the special award. The winning papers will be published in the form of an edited book by a reputed publisher. A few selected papers will also be considered for publication in international journals.
