Cadabam’s Group Launches its Psychiatric Emergency Helpline to Mark the 22nd Anniversary Celebration

The 22nd anniversary celebration of Cadabam's was marked by the launch of its psychiatric emergency helpline, a unique initiative to provide instant professional help to patients and families in a psychiatric crisis. The event, which was held at Pai Vista Convention Hall at Basavanagudi, witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities including His Excellency, Sri Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, Governor of Karnataka, Sri Ian Felton, British Deputy High Commissioner, Bengaluru and Sri B.N. Vijaykumar, MLA, Jayanagar.
"Mental health problems are complex conditions and are often neglected or stigmatised in our country. The services offered by Cadabam's Group in the field of mental health and behavioural issues are indeed creditable. However, considering the growing problems of addiction and mental health, there is a pressing need for more such specialised rehabilitation centres," stated the governor.
During the anniversary celebrations, Cadabam's acknowledged the unwavering efforts of mental health experts across the country who strive to improve the lives of mental health and addiction patients and play a pivotal role in their treatment and rehabilitation. In this regard, Cadabam's also presented the distinguished psychiatrist award to Dr. N.M.Patil and the mental health professional award to Mrs. Lata Jacob, for their outstanding services.
By presenting two of its best recovering patients with the 'Bright Star' award, Cadabam's also recognised the talent and calibre of its patients. During the event, the Bright Star awardees, who are recovering from their psychiatric and addiction problems after undergoing intensive treatment at the Cadabam's Rehabilitation Centre, spoke about their journey through the rehabilitation process.

This 24-hour helpline service, which is also supported by the ambulance facility, will provide free of cost mental health professional advice for conditions/situations such as addiction, suicidal or homicidal thoughts and tendencies, sexual harassment, domestic violence, psychotic episodes, self-harm behaviour, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety and other psychological problems at times of crisis and triage to suggest service options.
"The calls made on the helpline number will be attended by mental health professionals from the Centre, who would support the patient or family member on the other side with respect to the given circumstances," informed Mr. Cadabam Ramesh, Chairman, Cadabam's Group.
The 22nd anniversary celebration concluded with the philanthropic act of Cadabam's for the Taralu Grama Panchayati. An office building sponsored by the Cadabam's Group for Taralu Grama Panchayati was handed over to the panchayat, as part of Cadabam's commitment to helping local people.
