CanSupport, a pioneer in the field of palliative care, is staging five short plays written by Bhisham Sahni, acclaimed Hindi playwright and fiction writer. All funds raised from the event will go into CanSupport's free home-based palliative care service for terminally-ill cancer patients.

The director of the plays is Seema Bhargava Pahwa and the illustrious cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Seema Bhargava Pahwa, Manoj Pahwa, Heeba Shah, Rakesh Chaturvedi, Mayank Pahwa, Vinay Sharma and Manukriti Pahwa.

Currently there are 25 home care teams reaching beneficiaries homes in Delhi and NCR. They provide home-based care to 1,850 patients battling advanced cancer at any point in time. Majority of the patients are from economically weaker sections of the society.
CanSupport also has a telephone helpline, a day care, peer support groups and counseling services. It is at the forefront of training medical professionals, nurses, counselors and caregivers in Delhi and North India. Besides the Annual Foundation Course in Palliative Care, it runs certificate courses in palliative medicine, nursing and counseling.
