Citec's Management Meets With Finland's Trade Minister 'Alexander Stubb' and Business Delegation
This year's Energy Ambassador, Pentti Itkonen, visited Citec India last week. He arrived at the Chatrapati Shivaji airport in Mumbai on October 12th and has experienced Incredible India with his Citec hosts. He was at the Citec Mumbai office from 14th to 18th October.

India was selected of all the locations Citec had on offer for the Energy Ambassador's visit. This was a natural choice, as Citec started operations in India almost 10 years ago and currently employs almost 400 in India, with offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. This makes Citec India the second largest Citec company in terms of amount of employees. The company was founded by two students in 1984, and has since grown into employing approximately 1100 experts globally today. Citec currently leads the Finnish export statistics for technology consulting firms (SKOL, The Finnish Association of Consulting Firms, 2012). The competition for cost-efficient engineering services is fierce and therefore active presence in India is a prerequisite for Citec's continued growth.
Further, as Citec works in global teams, Itkonen could experience a project where experts from many countries work together to come up with the best solutions to the customer's needs. Thus, Itkonen became specifically more acquainted with one of Waste-to-Energy power plant projects designed by Citec. In this project, the customer is from Switzerland and the plant is built in the UK.
One of the highlights of Itkonen's visit was on October 16th, when Mr. Alexander Stubb, Finland's Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade met with Citec's senior management - Mr. Martin Strand, CEO, Mr. Nasir Mulani, Managing Director India, Mr. Arun Tyagarajan, Director, Citec India and the Energy Ambassador in Mumbai.
The same day, a business delegation organised by Finpro visited Citec at Mumbai, which included top level company representatives from Indo-Finnish companies. Citec presented the company's competence, its global offering as well as its top-class industry references.
"It was a great opportunity for Citec to meet the Finnish minister in India, and learn about his interest in enhancing Finnish trading with Indian businesses. Indo Finnish trade definitely has a long way to go," says Mr. Nasir Mulani.
In addition to his exposure to Citec as a global company and its energy business in India, the Energy Ambassador got an insight into also other aspects of India. For instance, he had a genuine Indian dinner at the home of an Indian family and visited some Indian orphanages.
