This year will see some of the previous edition's favorite teams and an addition of some new and talented entries. The belief is that with leadership and entrepreneurship, women can become the torchbearers of woman power.
QueensXI Women Cricket Tournament aims to encourage women in sports. QueensXI tournament aim to fulfill the basic needs of women in sports, needs that are identified through experts and certified organizations. This tournament helps shape women's passion for sports into reality by bringing them the opportunities, best equipment, and experiences on and off the field and in boardrooms across India.
The women behind QueensXI are passionate and have a vision for a better tomorrow for women in sports - Mrs. Archana Gupta, Director KEI Industries Ltd. and Tripti Shinghal, CEO - KGS advisors and Founding President - COWE India - Delhi and supported by Ms. Ira Singhal SDM North Delhi, who joined hands to support a common cause of #womeninsports.
The opening ceremony of QueensXI Women Cricket Tournament will be held on 6th of September and Finale shall be conducted on 8th of September which will be attended by various dignitaries.
One of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biggest campaign is 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'; QueensXI aims to give a different side to the same mission 'Beti Bachao, Beti Khilao', give the girl child the freedom to play as well. QueensXI aims to bridge the gap of opportunities that are currently lacking for women in comparison to men.
QueensXI is an open category cricket tournament with national and international female cricket players. Participating teams are Bangladesh, North Delhi, AWCTA, Nepal, Rajasthan, Delhi, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir.
This initiative needs to be nurtured with an open mind and a practical approach. Women's cricket must be understood on its own merit, independent of men's cricket performance. More importantly, efforts must be made for general acceptance amongst the public for the sport played by women who roughly constitute 50% of the population.
