Curofy Celebrates the Success of its Doctor's Network by Saving 1000 Lives in Nepal

Curofy, the medical networking app that enables communication between doctors, has assembled a team of 10 medical experts from their network to assist victims of the recent Nepal earthquake. The team consists of doctors for emergency response, orthopedics and medicine specialists. This group of experienced health professionals has successfully treated more than 1,000 critically injured individuals so far.
Nepal earthquake that jolted the Himalayan nation incurred massive destruction causing more than 8,000 deaths and immeasurable loss of property. The country is in serious need of medical assistance and support following the aftermath. Thousands of victims are in a critical health condition.
Among the variety of patients that were treated included patients with lacerations and fractures, degloving injuries, sores due to being trapped in debris and even a child with nearly 20% burns, infected wounds and many medical conditions. Several patients were also treated for post-traumatic stress disorder.
The team of doctors consisted of doctors from pan-India. Dr Suryapratap Singh Tomar - Neuro Spine and Trauma Surgeon, Dr Anuj Bhargava - Maxillofacial Trauma Surgeon, Dr Aakriti Gogireddy - Physician, Dr Yeshwanth Sonnathi - Physician, Dr B Vishishta - Physician, Dr Chitra Tanna - Gynaecologist, Dr Priyadarshini, Gynecologist are a few to name.

The introduction of IT in health has made it possible for networks like Curofy to provide doctors in just a matter of one day in this time of emergency. The endeavor by Curofy is noteworthy, as the venture is not even a year old.

Curofy is an online directory of doctors co-founded by three IITians - Mudit Vijayvergiya, Nipun Goyal and Pawan Gupta. The company was newly launched a couple of months before. It offers a platform for doctors to consult other networks of doctors and provide effective counseling to patients. In a short period of around two months, more than 3,500 doctors and specialists have joined the platform.
