The coming weekend will see Delhi-based 'Team Avalanche Racing' once more challenging the old stalwarts of motor racing.
Team Avalanche Racing started its first season in the FLGB4 Category in July. After struggling initially to get good drivers on board, the debutant team now can boast of a multi- season commitment with two of the top Delhi racers and a young new racer from Bangladesh.
The team is looking to spread its wings with four car presence on the grid having a mix of experience and youth. The lineup has Sumit Maluja and Rohit Khanna from Delhi and adding the international flavor are Kapila Khanna and M.D. Tushar, a promising racer from Bangladesh, ready to surprise Delhi crowd with his skills behind the wheel.
The team's operations and technical part is being handled by partners Vineet Rathi and Fazal Khan, old hands in motorsports with plenty of experience on and off track. "We have invested in best of the equipment and technology to take it to the heights where no other Indian team has reached. We are determined to bring a professional touch to racing in India which may have been missing till now," said Sumit Maluja, the team's co-owner.
The uniquely strong Delhi flavor is the first on the track for the country. The south dominated sport is now opening up to the north and what could be better than to start with the capital, creating a sense of bonhomie and camaraderie between the crowd and the crowd pullers.
Running strong in the championship with consistent midfield finishes, Team Avalanche is ready for a good finish in the last round. The future looks good for this challenger gearing up to challenge the old and established teams in the coming seasons.
Along with the races in different categories, JK Racing Championship will also host a stunt show, Formula BMW race and VW Polo Cup. With the motorsports' popularity growing at a fast pace in India, teams have to groom talent for domestic races, championships and events. In the off season, Team Avalanche Racing plans to do a talent hunt and karting events to identify and promote youngsters with potential. So get ready for an overdrive over the weekend and get ready to cheer the challengers.
