Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi Inaugurated Dandiya Night Organized by Advantage Media

Come Navratri and it's not just the Gujarati community which twirls to the beats of folk tunes and popular numbers. Garba and dandiya events have caught the fancy of revelers from the city regardless of their cultural backgrounds.
Even a little downpour in the afternoon on Sunday couldn't dampen the spirit of Patnaites, who dressed up in colourful ethnic clothes to attend a dandiya night organized by Advantage Media Consultants and Hotel Maurya.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi by lightning a lamp on the occasion.
While inaugurating the event Modi said, "Dandiya stick symbolizes the sword from which Maa Durga had killed the demon Mahisasura. Modi lauded Advantage Media for hosting the best dandiya show in the city and said that in the coming years dandiya will become the USP of Patna. The Deputy Chief Minister personally thanked Advantage Media MD, Khurshid Ahmad for hosting such a grand show and requested him to keep the tradition alive."
He greeted the people on the festival of Navratri. In his message, he said that worshipping Goddess Durga is of great significance in Indian culture, pointing out it leads to communal harmony and mutual brotherhood in the society.
The show started with the auspicious conch played by renowned artist Pandit Bipin Mishra. Mishra mesmerized the audience with his conch blowing leaving them spellbound.
The star-studded function was attended by several Bollywood artists including singer Ritu Pathak and Priyani Vani who regaled the audience with their melodious voice and foot tapping numbers. Pathak is best known for her song Papa Jag Jaayega, from the film Housefull while Vanihas lent her voice to Payers, Ferrari Ki Sawari and Thank You movies. The other added attraction were songs sung by singer Manisha Gaur and EMCEE singer Vandana Vadehra of Mumbai who also lent their voice to the event making it all the more memorable.
Traditional costumes, food, music and dance were the part of the event that took the city to the storm. A team of dandiya dancers from Gujarat also performed on the occasion adding more glitz to the function. Around 1,000 people took part in the high-voltage dandiya night where they danced to the tune of several Bollywood numbers and folk tunes. From students to women and children, everyone seemed to have been bitten by the dandiya and garba bug.
To add more stars to the function, there were RJ Anjali and RJ Shashi who played game with the audience, keeping them engaged throughout the four hour event.
Several local artists who brought laurel to the state were also felicitated during the function that include Kathak exponent Neelam Choudhary, conch player Pandit Bipin Mishra, Tanveer Akhtar, Navras Secretary Dr Ajit Pradhan and IPS Alok Raj. All were felicitated by Deputy CM Modi for their contribution to the field of promoting art & culture in the state.
