Discovery Kids to Present Biggest Animation Franchise in India 'Angry Birds' Series to Premiere in 1Q17

Discovery Kids today announced that it has signed an exclusive deal with Rovio Entertainment Ltd., maker of Angry Birds to present the popular kids franchise ANGRY BIRDS in India starting in the first quarter of 2017.

For the first time on Indian television, the Angry Birds characters will premiere in a 'series' format. Kids in India can look forward to a fun and quirky show as the series brings to life the crazy antics of their beloved birds and pigs characters. The line-up will include 3 series - Angry Birds Toons, Angry Birds Stella and Piggy Tales chronicling the adventures of the much loved characters.

Following the global popularity of Angry Birds and the mega-success of the movie across the globe, Discovery Kids will bring in a fresh take on the rivalry between the birds and pigs to India. From the angry Red to the superfast Chuck and the calm Matilda who battle with the pigs led by Top Hog- the king pig, the series promises to be a laugh riot for kids and families.
