The other key dignitaries included Mr. Prabodh Halde, President, AFSTI and Mr. Ajit Singh, President, HADSA who took a tour of the exhibition. The show brings together on one platform, the Indian food industry's leading decision-makers, experts, buyers, producers and suppliers.
Inaugurating the event, Dr Kamble congratulated UBM India for the 10th edition of the show and reiterated the potential of the food processing sector which needs to be further tapped against the global landscape. As part of his inaugural speech, he also emphasized that the present environment is conducive for "Make in India" in this sector, backed by innovation and technology.

The 10th edition of Fi India & Hi trade show will continue for the next two days 20th and 21st October. The platform will have a series of panel discussions on Global Food Trends: How Will They Play out in South East Asia?; Cost of Non-compliance and way forward; Role of Health Supplements in Healthcare, etc.
The panel discussions/seminars are organized in association with All India Food Processors' Association (AIFPA) & Health Food & Dietary Supplements Association (HADSA). The on-site seminars will be attended by industry leaders who will highlight innovations in food ingredients and opportunities in nutraceuticals. The event created especially for the food processing companies is supported by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.
As a special engagement during Fi & Hi 2015, UBM India will also inaugurate the two-day workshop on Bakery Modernization - Putting the icing on your bakery business. The workshop will be conducted by Assocom Institute of Bakery Technology & Management (AIBTM), a comprehensive teaching, training and research centre specifically for baking technology and allied disciplines. The workshop will include both seminars and demonstrations.
This year there will also be a Bakery Competition called 'The healthy cookie baking competition'. This will be open to anyone who works or has worked professionally as a baker or in the baking, cake, pastry or chocolate industry. Registrations for this competition are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
