Exhibitions Industry to Celebrate 'Global Exhibition Day' on 6th June
MUMBAI, May 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
A Grand Gathering of Professionals to focus on 'Safety First'
In an era of celebrating every occasion - be it Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Yoga Day or Music Day - a dedicated celebration for 'Exhibitions Day' is yet unheard of. In a recent announcement by UFI - the Global Association of the Exhibition industry - the Global Exhibitions Day (GED) 2018 will be held on 6 June, 2018 across the world. As such, the Mumbai-India Chapter of UFI has planned to celebrate the second edition of GED18 India on the same day (on 6th June) at 6 pm onwards at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Nesco, Goregaon East.
The primary aim of this largest awareness campaign for the exhibition and events industry is to uplift the profile of the sector as one of the most vital contributors to economic growth across cities, regions and countries. It will continue to strive to get Industry Status for the Exhibitions and Trade Show Industry in India. This year, GED18 India , India celebrations will address an important aspect of the industry - 'Workplace Health and Safety'.
While elaborating on the rationale behind this theme, Mukund Rao - member of Core Committee, GED18 India, said, "Every life is valuable, be it the top-most authority or the labourer working at the site. Protection from various hazards, especially during set-up and dismantling, needs to be given utmost priority. Material trucks, forklifts, cranes zooming in and out; construction of booths involving cutting, painting, welding, erection of pillars and the electric cabling work at the booths being of temporary nature are serious threats, to name a few. Stringent deadlines and limited timelines further intensify the risk."
Gavin Pinto, of GED18 India, said, "This is just the second year of GED (Last year GED17 was held on 7th June 2017 and was attended by over 350 professionals). In continuation of the same spirit, keeping aside business rivalries and differences in association alliances, the congregation of exhibition organisers, venue owners and service providers will once again foster a noble cause of promoting the Exhibition industry as a whole to highlight the industry's strength and unity. GED17 Mumbai celebrations focused on the 'Need of Industry Status for the Exhibitions and Trade Show industry in India'."
Professionals from exhibitions, trade fairs, events, weddings and the MICE industry are invited to be a part of the celebration, which will be better and grander this year.
Exhibition World, in partnership with UFI, recognised GED17 Mumbai activities carried out by the Indian Exhibitions Industry and acknowledged it with the 'Biggest Scale Physical Activity' Award. Additionally, GED17 Mumbai was also awarded the 'Most Creative Activity' Award.
After all, GED is dedicated to the white and blue collared professionals from the 'Exhibitions Industry'.
