'31st October' is based on a real life story of a family who battles for their survival with many other Sikhs on the day which has been marked in history as a black day - the day Indira Gandhi was assassinated.
"This year we complete 30 years of wait for justice. However, the film is a complete thriller and will take the audience through an experience of emotions, drama and a nerve racking journey," said Shivaji Lotan Patil, the director of '31st October'.
"The subject is close to many hearts in India and across the globe, especially for the sikh NRIs who had to leave their motherland because of what they faced on that black day. My sole intention of making the film is to tell the world that such massacres do no good to an individual, community or country. To talk about the film, all I can say is that when people will watch it, they will surely take back home a story to remember," said Mr. Harry Sachdeva, producer and writer of '31st October'.
"When I heard the script I did not even give a second thought, I was sure that I want to play the character I was approached for. The film is based on an incident out of history and it is all together a different experience to be a part of such scripts. It is surely one character which will never fade from my memory," said Soha Ali Khan.
The film is expected to release early next year. The teaser was launched at 'TRIBUTE TO 84', a homage ceremony organised by Mr. Harry Sachdeva in remembrance of the many lives lost in 1984. The launch witnessed many who's who of society like senior advocate and social activist H S Phoolka, Swami Agnivesh (social activist), Tarlochan Singh (Former MP and Chairman, National Commission for minority), Jaya Jaitley (Former President, Samata Party). A musical performance by Singer Harshdeep Kaur was also showcased at the ceremony. Many people gathered to pay homage to the martyrs and support the survivors and their families.
