Founded in 2015 in Mumbai, the company has just opened its third store in the leafy bylanes of Bandra, which GQ described as "a sublime space that gives you the ultimate shopping experience". "We base our store locations out of our online sales," says co-founder Samarth Hegde. "We have a very strong online business and that's a good pointer on where we should be looking at for our brick-and-mortar stores."
When the brand was starting out, a couple of LVMH head honchos discovered the brand and ordered a few garments. This is what led them to make a sizeable investment in Herringbone & Sui, catapulting the brand to growth and expansion. Today, three years later, the company is poised to take over the rest of India and has plans to open at least 7-10 stores over the next two years. "We've proven that we can make a product that's a lot higher in quality than people would normally expect for the price," says co-founder Kabir Mehra. "And I'm not saying a little bit. It's a lot. This is something that will appeal to someone in Mumbai as much as it will to someone in New York or London."
Herringbone & Sui has become a leader in the made-to-measure suiting space and has discovered that they get as many first-time buyers as they do experienced ones.
