- Jindal University Inks Agreement of Cooperation with Hebrew University of Jerusalem and College of Law and Business of Israel
Continuing the tradition of global collaborations across the world, O. P. Jindal Global University (JGU) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the College of Law and Business (CLB), and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJ) of Israel. The agreement aims to create a framework for global collaboration in areas of academics, research, faculty and student exchange programs for the partnering institutions.

The signing ceremony took place at an elaborate event held at the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi in the august presence of Mr. Reuven Rivlin, President of the State of Israel, who is on a six day visit to India and Union HRD Minister of India, Mr. Prakash Javadekar. The ceremony was part of an event organized by the Israeli embassy to boost academic collaborations and excellence in India.
President Rivlin's visit is also the first state visit by an Israeli President in nearly 20 years, and marks 25 years of formal diplomatic ties between India and Israel.
O.P. Jindal Global University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar signed the MoUs with Professor Menahem Ben Sasson, President, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Professor Moshe Cohen-Eliya, President, College of Law and Business. Also present on the occasion was, Mr. Roei Duani, Assistant President, International Relations & Resource Development, College of Law and Business.
Speaking on the occasion, President Rivlin, observed, it is the education and cultural exchanges that will consolidate Israel and India relations. The two nations came into being around the same time in the 1940s and the leaders of both national movements had intellectual dialogues like Tagore and Einstein. The Einstein archives at Hebrew University of Jerusalem houses the extensive letters of Tagore written to Einstein, so it is the right time for Israel and India to take the intellectual partnership further form here. The academic collaborations signed today will ensure that has begun.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed between the institutions is aimed to promote academic, cultural and personnel exchanges that can enrich the experience of students, research scholars and faculty members from both institutions. The agreement will also facilitate student and faculty exchange programs and promote bilateral cooperation on research.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of O.P.
