Indian Poet, Vihang A. Naik, Book of Poetry 'City Times and Other Poems' Again on Sale
KUMBHARIYA, India, February 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Indian poet and author, Vihang A. Naik remembers his childhood as one marked by constant moving. He was born into a Gujarati language-speaking family in Surat, Gujarat. From the so-called Jewel of the West, he moved to Baroda, Ahmedabad and other cities out of Gujarat. His travels gave him unique insight into life and humanity and in 'City Times and Other Poems' he shares these observations in the brilliant medium of poetry.
'City Times and Other Poems' takes place at two levels. On one level, it is about a city and a very human story about the world. On another, it is a metaphysical journey and a tale of self-discovery. Naik describes his work as a 'product of today's society' and with it, he hopes to awaken his readers to a new level of existence.
"The city includes everything. Human nature while living in a city, the way city creates underdogs as well as skyscrapers and the effect on human lives. It was market places and crowds. It was also love, memory, pain, exile and alienation, knowledge and wisdom. One would search for meaning or purpose in life while living in a city. Of course, behind everything it was ultimately, discovery of the self," says Vihang.
Insightful and unforgettable, 'City Times and Other Poems' captures stories of a poet caught up in the swirl of changing times, the ups and downs of human experience and the quest for self-discovery. These poems, in their entirety, are immersive, fascinating and most of all, they are true.
