SCHENECTADY, New York, Aug. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SI Group, Inc. announced today that the administrative law judge handling the International Trade Commission's investigation of Sino Legend and Red Avenue has issued a public version of his determination that recommends a 10-year import ban on certain Sino Legend tackifier resins. If approved by the ITC Commissioners, the "general exclusion order" would prohibit imports of the affected products into the United States by any person during the effective period of the ban. The recommended import ban includes Sino Legend SL-1801, SL-1801 LFP, SL-1802, and SL-1802 LFP tackifier resins.

In his initial determination issued June 17, 2013, Judge Rogers issued conclusions of law that include a finding that SI Group trade secrets were misappropriated by certain affiliates and representatives of Sino Legend and Red Avenue.

Judge Rogers' initial determination and recommended remedy is now before the six ITC Commissioners, with a final determination expected by November 8. If the recommended remedy is approved by the ITC Commissioners, the import ban will go into effect upon publication of the Commissioners' final determination, regardless of whether the matter is further appealed.

SI Group is pleased with Judge Rogers' recommended remedy and is optimistic that it will be approved by the ITC Commissioners. This important step marks another significant milestone in the company's quest to protect its trade secrets.

The public version of the full Initial Determination is available on SI Group's website (http://www.siigroup.com/press). Additional information on this case, No. 337-TA-849, is available on the ITC's website.
