Kusumanjali Foundation, New Delhi announced the 7th Annual Kusumanjali Sahitya Samman winners for Hindi and Assamese. Prof. (Dr.) Pushpita Awasthi was selected to receive the Kusumanjali Sahitya Samman - 2018 for Hindi for her novel 'ChinnMool'. Dr. Pranav Jyoti Deka was selected to receive the Kusumanjali Sahitya Samman - 2018 for Assamese for his short story collection 'Bewaris las aru anya galpa'.

The award-giving ceremony was held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 6.30 P.M. at the India International Centre (Multipurpose Hall), New Delhi. Mr. Mark Tully, veteran journalist and Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan Awardee and Prof. Indra Nath Choudhuri, Chairman, Governing Board, Kusumanjali Foundation jointly presented the Kusumanjali Sahitya Samman 2018 to the recipients.
The Kusumanjali Sahitya Samman carry a cash prize of ₹2.50 lakhs each, citation, a shawl and the award statuette. The award was instituted in 2011 by Dr. (Mrs.) Kusum Ansal, the well-known Hindi writer to promote and support the artistic, literary, and cultural activities in the country. The Foundation established the Kusumanjali Sahitya Samman in 2011 to present every year two National Awards on the best literary works. The works to be considered for the award include fiction, poetry, drama and short stories, etc. One award is given on a literary work written in Hindi and the second award is given on a literary work written in one of the remaining recognised Indian languages mentioned in the Schedule VIII of the Indian Constitution.
