Last Call for Nominations for Enset's Board of Directors

RESTON, Virginia, July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today through July 31, 2015, Public Interest Registry – the not-for-profit manager of .org, .ngo, .ong and four IDNs – is accepting nominations for the Board of Directors of nonprofit domain registrar Enset. In serving a two-year term starting in mid-2015, the appointed director will help further position Enset as an exemplary retailer of online services and provide leadership within the larger ICANN and nonprofit communities.
Now through July 31, 2015, interested individuals from around the globe can nominate themselves or other candidates to fill one open Board position. Qualified applicants must demonstrate significant leadership experience within the global nonprofit and nongovernmental organisation (NGO) arena, its related marketing programs, and its reseller channels as well as show an acute understanding of the issues and policies that affect the community. In addition, those that share an affinity with the values of Public Interest Registry and the Internet Society (ISOC) are strongly considered.

Formed in late 2014 by Public Interest Registry, Enset's primary purpose is to help NGOs and nonprofits enhance or develop their digital presence. In addition to providing .org – the third largest top-level domain, the registrar also enables organisations to register their .ngo and .ong domains as part of OnGood, a suite of services exclusively for NGOs to improve visibility, connect with supporters and raise funds.
Currently, Enset Board members represent a diverse spectrum of nonprofit community. The selected candidate – as chosen by the Public Interest Registry Board of Directors – should ideally have experience with the global NGO community, knowledge of NGOs in the global south as a key market area, and familiarity with U.S. nonprofit governance and financial considerations. Board members will make a commitment to attend all meetings and other functions, and members who are eligible to accept compensation may receive up to $12,000 per year for their services.
