Connecting state-of-the-art technology and human participation, the multi-level game app allows players to make the spirited cartooned terrier dog perform a number of amusing acts using their own body movements. The actions, including dancing and fetching, get more challenging as the player progresses through the many different levels.
"The Toto app is truly magical as it incorporates physical movement in the game to bring the adorable animated Toto character to life," said Brad Jashinsky, Digital Producer at Summertime Entertainment. "It will delight and challenge both children and adults, as well as build anticipation for the upcoming film Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return."
The app uses camera gesture control and gyro sensing to bring Toto to life. Its "Music and Dance" option allows players to dance with Toto to any song on their device. The app analyzes the beats of the selected song and creates custom patterns for the player to dance to. By dancing in a certain direction the player can hit the many different targets to earn points. As they collect points by hitting the target, the difficulty of doing so increases. Every song provides a different experience for the player and Toto.
In the "Play Fetch" option, users shake the device to fling Toto's favorite saucer in the air, and shake it again for Toto to catch it. Emulating the natural feel of a game of fetch, the challenge lies (and increases) in the players' time to make Toto jump to catch the saucer.
In addition to making Toto dance and fetch, players can also use the "Weather" option to see how Toto responds to the current weather in their neighborhood. Depending on what's happening outside, he may shiver, pull out an umbrella, ask for water or pant.
The app, co-developed with Xenium Digital Pvt Ltd and Mega World Media, is available for Apple iPhones and iPads for $0.99 on the Apple App Store.
