Management Students Commemorate United Nations’ World Youth Skills Day by Imparting ‘Life and Work Skills’ to Nearly 100 Underprivileged Children

Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum (KYLF), the largest management students-driven NGO of Kolkata, under its Channelizing of Youth vertical are commemorating United Nations' "World Youth Skills Day" (July 15) by imparting 'Life and Work Skills' to nearly 100 underprivileged children at Adarsh Madhyamik Vidhyalaya. The three-day, job-oriented, industry-aligned workshop, conducted from July 13 through July 15, included training in Basic Computing and Microsoft Office suites.

Kalynai - A Bikram Dasgupta Foundation, will present Participation Certificates to all the children who complete the workshop, which will allow the children to imbibe skills that are much sought after across sectors in all developing economies. The training is being imparted by student-volunteers of KYLF, who are pursuing their management education from Globsyn Business School.

Channelizing of Youth Vertical:

Students and young volunteers of the foundation undertake various kinds of social welfare projects such as Blood Donation Camps, Dental, Eye and Health Check-up camps for the underprivileged, Workshops for children at correctional institutions, Empowerment and Awareness Projects for Women, World Day Celebrations with disabled and mentally challenged people, teaching underprivileged children, etc. Since the process of undertaking such activities is also crucial which should result in the development of work skills, management skills and leadership skills, Kalyani's student volunteer group is being driven through 'Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum'.
  2. Imparting Education and Vocational Training to underprivileged and un-channelized youth. This includes:
