MUMBAI, August 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Post its launch on 25th July, 2013, Manthan has already reached out to 7000 colleges so far. Manthan is India's biggest youth movement to help set the agenda for 2014 General Elections. It aims to engage about 1 crore students directly and about 9 crore youth indirectly over the course of next two months.
Manthan encourages the youth to participate in the national political discourse by deliberating on 14 themes of critical national importance. The themes have been earmarked on the basis of online responses and expert inputs on various social media platforms. A nation-wide competition to adjudicate the best few presentations on the themes will be held. Shortlisted teams will get a chance to attend the culmination event of Manthan at Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi on 2nd of October, 2013.
The winners of the competition will have a chance to claim prizes worth INR 50 lakhs and intern with renowned policymakers from domains like politics, business and social services. They will also get an opportunity to present their recommendations to leaders from two principal national political parties of India. This can help in an active participation by the youth in the agenda setting for the upcoming General Elections.
250 voluntary Manthan ambassadors across the nation have already been involved in the publicizing this movement and have been encouraging students to participate in the cause. Manthan has primarily been using digital properties such as its Facebook page and its website, for the promotion of the event.
