Maria’s Braveheart Initiates a Nature Classroom for Young Environmental Enthusiasts

Maria's Braveheart, an outdoor learning venture in Gurugram, Haryana initiated by Mrs. Nellie Ahmed Tanweer, Founder of Marias's Public School, Guwahati, Assam is guiding young minds to reduce carbon footprints through healthful activities.

The venture aims to promote biodiversity education, community outreach and sustainable education from a campsite located at Gelpur, Alwar in Rajasthan in a beautiful landscape surrounded by lush green lawns, organic kitchen gardens, fruit orchards and play areas.

The programme is a way to give students an opportunity to get involved with different projects to embrace sustainability and responsibility and develop as environmental citizens - now and in the future, by learning to build a practice of sustainable well-being. This year, the Maria's Braveheart will be hosting a series on Conservation Programme to facilitate environmental, social, economic interconnections and to address wildlife and natural resource conservation challenges in this changing world. These programmes are scheduled to be held from November 17 till February 2018 and students across India are participating to become true inhabitants of Earth.

With technology and industrial development progressing at a furious pace, the Maria's Braveheart want to evoke awareness about the adverse effect of this upward surge and the world's decreasing biodiversity through experiential education for young minds.

This curriculum is aimed at providing a stepping stone for the participants to get acquainted with the various environmental hazards that arise from over usage of fossil fuels, which is being used at alarming rate, contributing to severe global warming and climate change.

While energy has become an important issue for most countries, developing and developed nations alike, Maria's Braveheart believes that there are several ways to curb, if not stop this frightening rate of environmental degradation. At Maria's Braveheart, students learn the basics principles involved with energy generation from alternate renewable sources and aim to familiarize students with the advantages of switching dependency on fossil fuels to renewable energy.
