BANGALORE, June 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Being a socially responsible fashion brand, MAX, as a part of World Environment Day campaign, had installed Drop Boxes in 17 stores across the city where customers could drop off their old clothes. MAX partnered with Goonj, a social enterprise that works on ignored basic needs like clothing, sanitary pads for villages and slums in India. This initiative will allow the distribution of old fashion clothes to the unprivileged. MAX has collected 3000 clothes from its shoppers to share fashion and has partnered with Nicole Faria, supermodel, actress and Ms. Earth, 2010 to promote the initiative at VR Bengaluru, Whitefield.

The campaign helps improve the environment. This way, we can both reduce waste and give our old clothes a chance to a new life. We commit to change the way we make, use and dispose of our clothes. Much fashion ends up in landfills; every year, thousands of tonnes of textiles are discarded with household waste. Most of those clothes could have been re-worn or recycled.
Mr. Satish Puranam, Vice President, Retail Operations said, "No true fashion lover likes seeing clothes go to waste. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to give your garments and share fashion with the needy. Through this initiative, fashion becomes pure environment friendly. After you donate your clothes with us, it can be recycled, e-used and re-worn."
Saplings were also provided to all the SAS in Bangalore and distribution across stores catchment area.
