The company already holds three popular music channels in its portfolio, Music India - a popular Hindi music channel, Sangeet Bangla - a channel that treats the audience to popular Bengali music and Sangeet Bhojpuri that plays hit Bhojpuri music, all of which enjoy great viewership in the regions they cater to. Sangeet Marathi will be launched in the initial weeks of September 2015.

Marathi music lovers can now look forward to a music channel that will play non-stop Marathi songs. The channel launch comes as a part of the expansion plan of Media Worldwide for the coming year. Beginning with Sangeet Marathi, the company plans to launch a number of music channels for the Indian audience.

To make an absolute effort to connect with the audiences and bring unmatched experiences to the table in delivering content that enthralls the audience, Media Worldwide has roped in Deepak Dewoolkar as the Chief Creative Director of the channel.
Deepak Dewoolkar, who enjoys a large fan base and is a very well known name and face in the Marathi cinema, has played the lead part in blockbuster Marathi movies like Vaat Pahte Punvechi, Janmadaata, Pratidav, Navra Majya Muthit Ga, Maza Saubhagya among 70 other films and in more than 40 Hindi television series like Krishna, Jahan Pe Basera Ho. He has been a part of Marathi television series like Damini and Lek Ladki Ya Gharchi that broke the TRP records of the Marathi daily soaps. He has also been a part of few Hindi movies and prominent Marathi dramas like Lagna and Kaal Chakra. In addition to being an actor, Deepak Dewoolkar is also a popular director and film maker with around 14 films to his credit. His involvement with the Marathi Entertainment industry has spanned more than 25 years. Deepak Dewolkar is also the recipient of Mama Varerkar Award for the Marathi play, Lagna. Through his association with movies and performing arts, Deepak Dewoolkar's unmatched understanding of the Marathi music industry will help Sangeet Marathi to expand the music horizons outside of film music.
