MICA's two-year flagship program grooms students into business leaders, strategic managers and communication experts for the industry. The specialisations offered are in Brand and Advertising Management, Digital Communication Management, Media and Entertainment Management, Marketing Research and Analytics (MRA) and Development Management and Social Enterprise. For admissions to the batch of 2017-2019, MICA has expanded its reach from 18 cities last year to 27 cities across the country this year, where the computer based entrance test, MICAT will be conducted. MICAT will be conducted twice, in Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi/Ernakulum, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Mumbai, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam.
MICA receives applications from students from diverse regions and fields. It currently has students from various academic backgrounds like engineering, commerce, dentistry, law, humanities, creative communication, consulting etc. from across the country.

MICAT will be held twice this year also to provide two opportunities to the candidates to appear in MICAT in the same academic year, following which they will be shortlisted for further rounds of selection. MICAT-I will be conducted on the 11th of December, 2016 followed by MICAT-II on 13th of February, 2017.
