MoneyGram Foundation and UCEP Bangladesh to Provide 18,000 Children in Bangladesh a Reason to Smile

DHAKA, Bangladesh, Aug. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MoneyGram (NASDAQ: MGI), a global provider of innovative money transfer services, has awarded a grant of $53,600 through the MoneyGram Foundation to Underprivileged Children's Educational Programs, Bangladesh, a non-profit organization.

The collaboration with the MoneyGram Foundation will improve the teaching and learning environments of 25 UCEP general schools located throughout Bangladesh and benefit 18,000 students.

The UCEP Bangladesh grant offers teachers the ability to overcome the barrier caused by lack of proper resources, allowing them to deliver lessons in a more effective and meaningful way, especially in math and science. The grant will provide laptops and other IT equipment, as well as technology support for the 25 schools.
UCEP Bangladesh is a non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated to uplifting the skills and opportunities of children from underprivileged communities. Through UCEP's 53 general schools and 10 technical schools in Bangladesh, the organization offers programs that bring drop-out students back to education, provide vocational skills training and offer job-placement support to its youth graduates.
