Nature InFocus truly stands as a platform for nature lovers to connect, share and learn from well-known photographers, researchers, experts, forest officers and fellow members of the community. It also encourages the community to use this platform to promote wildlife photography, giving an opportunity to get acknowledged, recognized and to showcase their work. This gives them an opportunity to network with nature enthusiasts and photographers.
The festival aims to attract nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers, bird-watchers, interested public, policy makers and forest officers. There will also be students and members of nature clubs.
"We realised that there is no offline platform for nature lovers to connect. Lot of interesting work is happening in India and a platform is required to showcase the same. NIF is an attempt to bring nature lovers together. We want this festival to be the best in the world for nature/wildlife photography and conservation related stories," says Rohit Varma, Festival Director for Nature InFocus.
Some of the well-known speakers and advisory board members includes Anil Kumble (Cricketer, Wildlife Enthusiast and Photographer), Vijay Mohan Raj (IFS, Chief Conservator Of Forests), Sejal Mehta (Editor, Web at National Geographic Traveller India), Dhritiman Mukherjee (Award-Winning Nature photographer) Dr. Ananda Kumar (Scientist at Nature Conservation Foundation, also 2015 Whitley Award Winner) Bittu Sahgal, (Environmental activist and writer, Founding editor of Sanctuary Asia), to name a few.
"Wilderness and nature photography hardly work in isolation. The best of it comes out when there is a community around to learn, share and exchange ideas. NIF was born to give a platform for people who are interested in nature and wildlife photography to get together and expand this to new horizons," says Kalyan Varma, Festival Director for Nature InFocus.
