Ladies Circle India and Siddha Group flagged off the 2nd edition of Siddha Kiddathon at Mohun Bagan Ground, Kolkata on 4th December, 2016 to support underprivileged kids affected by cancer. The event started off with 50 underprivileged kids from Magic Bus School getting a chance to kick-off the day with a fun run. Kids from 'Chatra-Chaaya', a school for the underprivileged and 'Mukti Rehab', a rehabilitation centre for kids, also took part in the run. Medals, goody bags and school copies were distributed to these kids. Siddha and Ladies Circle India handed over a cheque of Rs.3,00,000/- for the treatment of 3 patients suffering from cancer and needing treatment at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Howrah. Hospital Doctors and patient with their families were present to receive the cheque for the treatment.

Mr. Aditya Diwan, Director, Siddha Group, Mrs. Prachi Agarwal, Chairperson Ladies Circle India, Mrs. Shweta Poddar, Area Chairperson and Mrs. Reetika Jain, Chairperson, Calcutta Central Ladies Circle 27 and Prachi , Ladies Circle India were present to flag off Siddha Kiddathon.
Around 2000 kids from various schools across the city along with over 3000 parents participated in the three run categories which were 400 mts. 'Mom and Me' run, 1 Km 'Apollo Budding Champs' run and 2 Km 'Super Champs'. Each kid got a medal and a certificate. Beside these, Goodie Bags, Zumba, Food Fiesta, DJ, Flood Light Stadium was the attractions of the event.
"When it comes to support a noble cause, Kolkatans never disappoint. We are overwhelmed with the response that we received from the participants and are proud to be associated with the initiative," said Mr Aditya Diwan, Director, Siddha Group.
"The fund raised through sponsorship and registrations would be used for treatment of cancer kids who cannot afford the treatment. Kudos to every child presents here who finished the run and went back feeling like a winner with medals, certificate and goodies," said Mrs Reetika Jain, Chairperson, Calcutta Central Ladies Circle 27.

Siddha Kiddathon is an initiative to give back to the society - as all surpluses will be utilized for chemotherapy costs for the less privileged children and other welfare activities. Calcutta Central Ladies Circle 27 has been doing fund raisers every year to support the long term project of Ladies Circle India - 'Educate to Enlighten', wherein we build and support schools for the underprivileged children. Every year one school is built by our Circle in the rural areas around Kolkata.
