Patna Golf Club Four-Day Centenary Celebrations Take Place Amid Huge Pomp and Show

Joined by at least 350 golfers from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi, the four-day centenary celebrations of the Patna Golf Club were organized from March 17th - 20th. The celebrations commemorated the hundred-year journey of the club and promoted golf as a sport. During this period, various tournaments were held for professional as well as amateur golfers.
The event teed-off on March 17 with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art guesthouse at the Golf Club. During the prize distribution ceremony, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released a coffee table book that contained old pictures and memoirs of veteran golfers and personalities who have been associated with the club over the years.
Tournaments for women, senior citizens and differently abled players marked the second day of the festivities. On the final day of the tournament, an inter-state golf tournament took place in which the Jharkhand team bagged the top spot, with Bihar finishing second.
Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Arjun Munda, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Education Minister Ashok Choudhary, former Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Supreme Court judges BP Singh, Aftab Alam and Chandramouli Prasad and CBI director Anil Sinha exhibited their golfing skills in the tourney. Bureaucrats, senior political leaders, members of the judiciary and dignitaries who are skilled golfers participated in the tournament.
