BENGALURU, May 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
PlaySolar's range of innovative solutions are driving adoption of solar energy and sustainable practices in various spaces and industries to help protect the environment
"Planning is bringing the future into the present so that you can do something about it now," said Alan Lakein, Author of How to Get Control of Your Time and Your Life.
World Environment Day, 5th June is just round the corner. Like every year the world focuses on spreading awareness, empathy towards the planet Earth and the measures we can take to protect it. A growing consciousness about our carbon footprint, coupled with awareness about our present lifestyles' contribution to global warming, is good, but it's not enough. Sustainable change needs to happen today. People need to move away from practices which harm the environment right now - the use of fossil fuels, excessive energy and resource consumption, unchecked pollution, and waste disposal.
To aid this change, PlaySolar aims to change the way communities approach generation and consumption of energy. The company's solar solutions have found valuable implementations across various regions and industries. They actively promote and setup solar solutions in urban residential and commercial spaces. In rural areas, they take up mini grid and solar water pump installations. Recently, they worked with Energicity to implement mini grids in Ghana and with Mlinda Foundation to install them in the villages of Pasanga and Arangatoli, in Jharkhand.
"Our solutions are easily implementable, and are customized based on the choice of application, site conditions, budget specifications, and other usability criteria," says Mukundan 'Mux' Narasimhan, Managing Director and CEO, PlaySolar Systems Private Ltd. "We integrate the power of IoT and real-time data with our solutions, to monitor and compliment equipment performance and improve the overall impact that they have on the community," he added.
Their cloud monitoring solution, CloudSol™ is a web-based remote monitoring, control and performance analysis tool for all their products. It helps users analyze energy generation patterns during the day, as well as the impact of key equipment on energy usage.
PlaySolar's solutions are designed by their team of experts who have significant experience working in the solar energy sector. The young and energetic team, with an average age of 33, never compromises on the choice of equipment to be used, and the customized best-fit design for any given project. One such recent customized project involved integrating a 3kW hybrid project in Mr. Ganapathi Subramanyam's home, a retired naval officer.
"PlaySolar approached and completed the project in a very professional and sequential fashion. They were extremely empathetic about the existing rainwater harvesting setup, and engineered an innovative solar PV panel setup, to ensure that every drop of water remained harvested," added Mr. Subramanyam.
In the immediate future, the company is looking to push for the adoption of solar in a host of different spaces. Recently, one such integration features their product AtmoSol™, which essentially helps move air conditioning and cold storage systems to solar power. "AtmoSol can help integrate two 1.5-ton air conditioners, and a sump to overhead tank water pump or a rural cold storage room using a simple and easily installable system. We believe it's a necessary solution not only for the environment but also to improve savings on electricity in a domestic setting. In the rural setting it helps greatly improve the longevity of produce," added Mux.
Another innovative solution the company is working on, involves solar-powered E-Rikshaws. "This is a very valuable integration. Upfront costs for E-Rickshaws are a lot more affordable than normal rickshaws and by using solar power the cost of charging the vehicle using the grid is also greatly reduced. Incentives by the government promoting the vehicle's adoption is another advantage," says Mux. For example, in Karnataka, the government has waived off road tax for solar powered E-Rickshaws, while general E-Rickshaws still bear this tax.
While pushing for these developments, the company is also involved with various other initiatives. They have actively helped solar powered water pump adoption in Karnataka and other states across India. JalSol™ is PlaySolar's indigenously designed stand-alone solar powered water pumping system to provide water on-demand, is the ideal solution for successful farming in power starved areas. Another solution is RetroSol™, their uniquely designed power controller which fits in with inverters for an effortless, efficient and affordable upgrade to solar. It provides existing power back up and has also found many benefactors, both in rural and urban spaces.
By working with governments, CSR initiatives, residential and commercial communities, and various other partners across regions, sectors, and industries, PlaySolar is well on its way to achieve its mission of bringing back solar into the centre of India's energy mix. With solar at the centre of its mission, the company is advocating sustainability as the need of the hour, which will determine our survival in the future. Over this week leading up to World Environment Day, many sources will enlist the best practices to move to a more sustainable lifestyle. We must explore, understand, and endorse whatever change we can, into our lives as best as possible. We must remember that collective change is nothing but an amalgamation of individual change.
