Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Inaugurates Havells India’s World Class Manufacturing Unit in Neemrana

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt.Vasundhara Raje, inaugurated a new manufacturing unit set up by Havells India Ltd in Neemrana, Rajasthan today. The new manufacturing plant is located in the RIICO industrial zone and will manufacture glass-lined storage water heaters. Set up with an investment of Rs. 100 crore, the plant is a state-of-the-art world class manufacturing facility.

In her address at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Raje congratulated Havells India Ltd on the establishment of the new unit and said, "We heartily welcome industrial partnerships that accelerate progress in the State. We appreciate the role such industrial units are playing in creating direct and indirect jobs in significant numbers. Job creation is one of the pillars of the Rajasthan model of development, social justice and effective governance being the other two."

The Chief Minister added, "But industries can grow only if there is a trained workforce available for them. So it is critical that we invest in creating a talent pool for the companies investing in Rajasthan. Therefore, we are according the highest priority to skill development and are partnering with industry in this initiative. We are encouraging Public Private Partnerships in the Skill Development Sector. A large number of Indian and Multinational organisations,  including Toyota, Caterpillar, Cairn India, Samsung, Singapore ITE, ISRO and the Bombay Stock Exchange, are partnering with us to create first-rate skilling establishments for our youth."  

Referring to Rajasthan's pioneering reforms in the labour sector, the Chief Minister said, "These reforms are aimed at boosting opportunities for employment while safeguarding the interests of workers. To us, the worker is as much a member of 'Family Rajasthan' as is the investor. It is for all of us to work hand-in-hand to take the State forward."

In 2005, 50 acres of land in Neemrana were allotted by RIICO to Havells India Ltd. The company established three manufacturing plants for making energy efficient electric motors, CFLs and LED Lighting Fixtures. The new manufacturing unit is a major addition to that presence.

Chief Minister Raje also extended her invitation to the captains of industry to the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit, which is to be held in Jaipur on November 19-20, 2015.
