Cash prizes worth INR 1,75,000 awarded to winners from IIT Delhi and G B Pant Government Engineering College
ReNew Power Ventures Pvt. Ltd. ('ReNew Power'), one of India's leading renewable energy companies, announced the winners of the EnvironmenD: Cleaning our Air & Water contest at Tryst 2018, the Annual Technical Festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. This ReNew Power-led initiative invited participants to submit disruptive technology-based solutions on 'Avoiding or mitigating emissions that pollute air and water'.

The event saw high levels of enthusiasm and several entries were received from student teams across India. These were evaluated on parameters such as practical orientation, relevance to the theme, uniqueness, and cost effectiveness. Eight teams made it to the final round. In the end, Team Algaetreat from IIT, Delhi bagged the first place to win the contest while Team Vaayu from IIT Delhi and Mechanical Warrior from G B Pant Government Engineering College, Delhi came in second and third, respectively. The winners stand a chance of having their projects scaled up and commercialized to real-life implementation.
While the top three teams received cash prizes worth a total of INR 1,75,000, the eight shortlisted projects will also receive a funding sanction of a maximum of INR 25,000, for preparing their respective projects.
