On 15-16 November 2013, Productivity Buzz and Summit 2013 was held at Pune displaying productivity solutions and innovations in metalworking. The event was organized by Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA, the organizers of IMTEX) held at The Orchid & VITS Hotel, Pune.

The event showcased productivity solutions for areas like Turning Centres, Machining Centres, Manipulators and Manufacturing Automation, Quick set-up Change, Office Productivity, Industry Consultants, Robots, Die and Mould, Metal Forming, Welding, Energy Efficiency, IT Solutions and many more. Visitors were able to discuss their challenges on one to one basis with above and exchange new ideas and concepts.
Key Attraction
Sandvik Coromant presented its value added services that focus on improving machining shop floor productivity. Services like Productivity Improvement Programme, that targets to bridge the productivity gap between the cost development and what the market is willing to pay, and Application Center, where Sandvik Coromant works together with its customers providing end to end support in new product development, were the highlight of the show. Other range of services like machine investment support, technical training and tailor made products also received good response. Major Highlight
As a part of this event, group of participants visited Sandvik Coromant's Plant and Productivity Center at Dapodi, Pune. Visitors took special interest in understanding the productivity improvement measures implemented at this state-of-the-art production facility.
At Sandvik Coromant's Productivity Center, rocket speed drilling demonstrations of solid carbide drill CoroDrill 860, High feed CoroTap 300 and productivity by Silent tools were shown. Visitors also learnt about the various year round training programmes modelled as "Not only know how but show how as well" conducted by experts and specialists.

In Productivity Summit, a concurrent event, companies like Tata Steel, Mahindra and Mahindra, Godrej & Boyce, Bosch, TVS Motors, Hero Moto Corp etc, showcased their best productivity improvement projects in metal working industries which have excelled in achieving superior performance through sustained productivity improvements. Well known industry guru's like Mr. R Gopalkrishnan (Director, Tata Sons), Mr. N Ravichandran (Exe Director, Lucas-TVS), Mr. S Vishwanathan (VC, Toyota Kirloskar Motor) and Mr. J Mehta (Chairman, TQM Inst) delivered keynote addresses on issue of productivity, suggesting ways and means to resolve them based on their rich experience.
