SAVVY Felicitates Successful Business Women From Different Fields - 'SAVVY Honours - Celebrating Success' Awards 2016

After a successful show in Delhi, the second edition of the 'SAVVY Honours - Celebrating Success' held in Mumbai at the fabulous Taj Santacruz, was a resounding success. The glamorous evening saw a line-up of incredible women entrepreneurs being honoured by the stars for their incredible endeavours. 'SAVVY' has always empowered women and taking this notion further, they have launched an associate magazine 'SAVVY Honours - Celebrating Success'. To honour their efforts and salute their achievements, 'SAVVY' presents a special edition of 'SAVVY Honours - Celebrating Success' which will feature the amazing work these women continue to excel at.

The crème de la creme that flocked to the grand Taj Santacruz Hotel to stand witness to this momentous occasion included Gulshan Grover, Poonam Dhillon, Pooja Batra, Rituparna Sengupta, Madhoo Shah, Nawaz Singhania, Schauna Chauhan, Zeba Mitha Kohli, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ramesh and Kiran Sippy, Deepshikha, Shaina NC, Roshni and Parvez Damania, Harshvardhan Rane, Suzzane Sablok Pillai, Sunaina Roshan, Sandhya Shetty, Payal Ghosh, television's Divyangana Jain, Jinal Bilani, Rucha Gujarati and many others. The 17 successful women honoured during the grand event were from different walks of life. These included:

1) Annada Joshi, Writer

Born and brought up in Mumbai, Annada Joshi is a multi-talented writer. In a short while, she has managed to write about various topics like beauty, fashion, makeup, the Internet, relationships, shopping etc. Annada's background in engineering helped her critical thinking develop. Critical thinking fused with her creative instinct, makes her a razor-sharp writer.

2) Anu Kedia, Artist

Known for her artworks, Anu Kedia believes in chasing her dreams with an undeterred spirit. She loves choosing projects that inspire and make her happy. Having grown up with opportunities to visit various historical sites combined with her keenness to observe finer details of art, they left a lasting impression on her. Her brand 'The Artist' has created art pieces that touch and influence people's lives on a daily basis.

3) Archhana Smart, Interior Designer

With vast experience in the field of design, Archhana Smart established Prahheelika Design Studios in 2014. Her design studio caters to the multiple needs that enhance a home and offers a quality way of living. She believes in great detailing and designs that make kitchens better functional spaces. For many years, Archhana has been involved in helping several Italian kitchen brands set up their stores in Mumbai. She has also been associated with Italian kitchen companies at various senior levels of management. Incidentally, Prahheelika Design Studios also represents the world's leading and innovative Italian brand Modulnova.

4) Asma Gulzar, Fashion Designer

Fashion designer Asma Gulzar has been passionate about designing clothes since her childhood. She graduated from BVM, Lucknow, before securing a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi. Asma started her career as a designer with a partner in New Delhi in 2003, and thereafter launched her very first independent label known as 'Aida Couture - The Fashion Hub' in 2008.

5) Dr Daphne Pillai, Educationist

Dr Daphne Pillai is the Chairperson, Management Board of Mahatma Education Society and Co-Founder of the Pillai Group of Institutions and a leading educationist for over 30 years. She has created new vistas in women's empowerment by initiating and implementing several projects for the upliftment of women, including a literacy drive for women in slums. She is also responsible for many collaborative programs with reputed international universities and organisations.

6) Dr Nandita Palshetkar, IVF Specialist

She is one of the early visionaries who brought the now famous IVF treatment within reach of the common man and has tirelessly worked to spread the benefits of IVF technology across India. 7) Kanchan Kulkarni, Fashion Designer

Born in Mumbai and raised in Dubai, she started her own label Kara two years ago which is already making major strides in the fashion world with back-to-back debut shows at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Doha and the India Beach Fashion Week in Goa where the stunning Waluscha De Sousa was her showstopper.

8) Kirti Kabra, Corporate Director

An early marriage kept her away from her dream to be a successful businesswoman. She has worked with celebrities such as Shabana Azmi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Padmini Kolhapure to name a few. 12) Neeta Pathare, Artist

Artist and founder of Cobalt Arts, Mumbai, her gallery brings together masters, senior artists and promising artists on one platform. 13) Parull Mahaajan, Environment Activist and Interior Designer

Having successfully completed more than 100 sites in the past 10 years, young and dynamic Gurgaon-based environment activist and interior designer Parull Mahaajan, Co-Founder of House of Design, has the distinction of creating bespoke spaces.
