South Asia's first international Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo India (CBME India) held in Mumbai met with exceptional response from visitors and exhibitors alike for its debut show. The trade event held from 11-13 April 2013 at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India featured more than 150 international and domestic exhibitors and attracted more than 7000 trade visitors. The exhibition featured innovative products from the world over and provided a unique opportunity for manufacturers and service providers of children, baby care and maternity product to showcase products, network and connect with established buyers.

Ms. Shilpa Gupta, Head Retail, FICCI, officiated the show's inauguration ceremony. Addressing the media, she said, "CBME India is a very important show to India's child, baby and maternity industry. The event supported by prominent associations such Retailers Association of India (RAI) and Franchising Association of India (FAI) hosted Business Reboot; a business transformation seminar on strategies and insights for the untapped and expanding US $ 11.12 billion child and baby care product industry. The seminar, which was in tandem with the trade fair, presented an opportunity to hear fascinating case studies and a wide array of viewpoints and comprehensive range of topics to be addressed on the regulations and market trends of tomorrow at the International Industry gathering.
Another highlight of this year's expo was the first specialist seminar Expecting Moments 2013; on pre and postnatal fitness, nutrition, post natal depression and transition to fatherhood. This important seminar scheduled on the third day of the event threw light on latest research and information on maternal health & fitness, dwelled on management of post natal depression while also providing insights to expectant mothers and transitioning fathers for having healthier babies and a stress free lifestyle.
