STAI is the apex body of sugar professionals in India.

The award was bestowed on Mr. Chaudhari for the invaluable contribution of Praj Industries in the development of innovative and sustainable technologies in the field of ethanol, under his leadership. Mr. Pramod Chaudhari is an alumnus of IIT Bombay. He is a first generation entrepreneur. He founded Praj in 1984. He is committed to innovative solutions in the pursuit of clean technologies for sustainable environment and business. He strongly believes in 'Triple Bottom Line' as a guiding principle for business. He is also Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry's National Committee on Bio-Energy for 2013-14.
