Certainly not the first of the many design challenge awards, students of DSK International Campus - Rubika bagged most of the winning spots at the 10th Pune Design Festival held on 26th and 27th February, 2016. Organized by the Association of Designers of India and Autodesk, the competition saw participation from renowned design institutes of India. Out of the many design institutes which participated, students of DSK International Campus - Rubika dominated the sought after design competitions - The Battle of Design Project and Autodesk Design Swarm held during the festival.

Kaushal Dabak, year 4 - Transportation Design student of DSK International Campus - Rubika conquered 'The Battle of Design Projects' with his design: Cygnex Fly. Inspired by a Dragonfly, his concept Cygnex Fly is a scout exploration vehicle for a new planet, which is 490 light years away from earth. Kaushal's futuristic exploration vehicle is designed in such a way that it can be carried as a back-pack or a trolley, which can be attached to a base vehicle.
The Battle of Design Project was an open entry competition in which students submitted projects completed between 2014-2016 as part of the curriculum of a reputed design institute in India.
Rajshekhar Das who graduated this year from DSK International Campus as a Transportation Designer walked away with the second place in this competition. His vehicle design addressed the travel issues of rural India. Called the Google Community Vehicle, it is a practical and cost-effective solution for the day-to-day travel and transportation during medical emergencies in the rural areas. This concept has also won the esteemed Michelin Design Challenge Award this year in Detroit, USA.
In the 2nd competition, the Autodesk Design Swarm, the design students of DSK International Campus - Rubika won all three positions. The team-based competition called upon the participants to address the rapidly growing problem of sea pollution through plastic bags. In this 5-hour challenge, the students of DSK International Campus - Rubika led their teams which was also a mix of students from other design institutes.
The winning team, all comprising of students from DSK International Campus - Rubika, Dhruv Khosla, Year 3 - Digital Design along with Aniket Chatterjee, Year 1 - Transportation Design, Don Anthony, Year 3 - Product Design and Mark Mathew, Year 2 student of Product Design presented a brilliant solution - A manta ray shaped device that would dredge the ocean bed and collect plastic waste, which won the 1st place in the competition.
Viraj Chauhan, Final Year student - Digital Design, DSK International Campus - Rubika along with his team, which presented an innovative solution - A set of modular carrying equipment that would suffice grocery shopping needs, won the 2nd place. Ujwal IK - Final Year student - Digital Design, DSK International Campus - Rubika along with his team won the 3rd place in the 5-hour challenge for their 'edible packaging' solution to fight the environmental crisis.https://www.facebook.com/DskSupinfocomInternationalCampus/?ref=hl.
Winning awards is certainly not new for DSK International Campus - Rubika and its students.
