MUMBAI, March 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Taurian World School, an International residential school, based out of Ranchi, is actively nurturing nature through 'Waste Management' activities. The students of class VI and VII at Taurian World School staged a rally and gained hands-on experience on the topic by transforming a part of their huge campus into a waste collecting lab.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recently launched 'Swachh Vidyalaya', a campaign which comes under 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', students of Taurian World School have taken the initiative to go beyond their classrooms. Under the guidance of academic coordinators, Ms. Suchitra Sahu and Mr. Vijay Paul, the students enthusiastically participated and segregated bio-degradable and non-bio-degradable waste for recycling. The students of Taurian World School successfully set an example by highlighting hygiene and sanitation measures amongst their peers, thus instilling a culture of responsible waste management in the school premises as well as in the world beyond.
Commenting on the campaign undertaken by the students, Mr. Amith Bajla, founder, Taurian World School said, "I am pleased that our students have taken part in such a worthy initiative that involves conservation of the environment. It is Taurian World School's ethos to care for the environment as much as we care for our students. The campaign has exposed our students to joyful learning, practical exposure to theory, innovative thinking, scientific attitude and skill development. It has also imbibed a sense of team spirit amongst them. Students have contributed successfully to 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' and we wish to continue such initiatives in future."
Mr. Bajla further added, "Creating waste diversion and recycling programs not only creates a positive impact in schools but also optimizes the importance of hygiene and sanitation in our vicinity. We wish to set an example for other schools and encourage them to 'Go Green'."
Taurian World School has also adopted other eco-friendly measures for a cleaner environment. To reduce their power consumption costs, the school has rooftop solar power solutions for heating water at the student hostel and the staff quarters. Taurian World School also consists of an in-house dairy and the cattle are fed with leftover vegetables. The cow dung and urine are used as fertilizers for farming. Taurian World School will also initiate a project for rainwater harvesting across the campus in the next few months.
Taurian World School, lays emphasis on multicultural exposure and diversity to nature and society, teaching values, encouraging creativity, communications, extra-curricular activities, and infrastructure for the overall development of students. Affiliated with CBSE, Taurian World School is an 'A+++ rated' school by Education World Boarding School Survey and is well-equipped with International faculty, providing its students an opportunity to learn from subject matter experts with years of teaching and training experience.
