TechGig Code Gladiators 2015 Reveals New Stars in the IT Industry

80,000 Coders From 9,000 Companies Competed Over 2 Months Culminating in the Crowning of the Top Coders in the IT Industry

Probably the biggest coding contest, not just in India, but globally as well, The TechGig Code Gladiator Challenge displayed the tremendous coding talent that is present in India.

Over 80,000 coders from across 9,000 top IT companies coded in Java, C, C++, C#, VB.net, Java Script, Python, Perl, Ruby and PHP in online rounds that culminated in the top 100 coders meeting in person to battle it out face to face in the National Capital recently.

The grueling competition saw the rise of the Top 5 Coders, the Top 5 IT Companies and Top Coding Diva from among the thousands of participants.

TechGig Code Gladiators 2015 Grand Finale winner Apurv Gupta received the grand prize and cash award of Rs. 2 Lakhs from Mr. Devender Malhotra, Vice President & Chief Quality Officer- Wipro Limited.

Receiving the award, Apurv Gupta said, "This is a complete surprise - I did not expect to win. But yes, coding is much more than my work, it is my passion. I am thankful to Oracle and TechGig for this wonderful opportunity to show my talent to the world."

The 1st runners-up - Surender Godara from SapientNitro won Rs. 1.5 Lakhs Cash, Trophy and Certificate Plaque 

The 2nd runners-up - Victor Hoh from AWPL won Rs. 1 Lakh Cash, Trophy and Certificate Plaque 

The 3rd runners-up - Sonu Singal from Algoworks Technologies Private Limited won Rs. 75,000 Cash, Trophy and Certificate Plaque

The 4th runners-up - Ankit Vig from Cvent India Pvt Ltd won Rs.50,000 Cash, Trophy and Certificate Plaque

The TechGig Code Diva Award at Code Gladiators 2015 Grand Finale went to Hina Bhatia from Steria who won Rs. 25,000 Cash, Trophy and Certificate Plaque as the best female coder.

The companies who scored the highest at Code Gladiators 2015 were once again led by Persistent Systems, who won the "India's Coding Power House" award for the second year running, followed by Steria (2nd), IRIS Software Pvt. Ltd. (3rd), ITC Infotech (4th) and Amadeus South Asia (5th).

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Devender Malhotra, Vice President & Chief Quality Officer- Wipro Limited congratulated TechGig for becoming the "IPL of the IT World" while congratulating the winners, he stressed on the importance of multiskilling in the hypercompetitive world of coding.
