Thadomal Shahani Centre for Media & Communication Introduces a Diploma Course in Photography

Thadomal Shahani Centre for Media & Communication (TSCMC) is introducing a path-breaking diploma course in the field of Photography. Mentors for this photography course will be invited from the Mumbai Traveler's Photo School.

TSCMC's diploma course is a 9-month comprehensive course which aims to provide in-depth knowledge to prospective photography students. Topics covered under this course range from the very basics of photography to other complex topics like portrait and landscape photography. The year long course includes 6 months of live training (indoor and outdoor), dedicated live assignments and photo-exhibitions and finally 3 months of guaranteed internship. The course will also be punctuated with trips to various places across Mumbai and outside. Lectures will be taken by industry giants and photographers with experience from the Mumbai Traveler's Photo School.

The highlight of the course is that it will be a totally practical course and there will be no examinations as it doesn't align with the fresh vision of the Shahani Group. The students will be evaluated based on assignments and projects. The other subjects covered under this course are:

History of photography, frame composition, various types of cameras, lenses and essentials of add-on equipment, depth of field, light source, photo-journalism, uses of meter (in-camera and handheld)

The lectures for the course will be conducted only during weekends.

The only important pre-requisites for prospective students are flair and dedication for the field.

Duration: 9 Months
