GURGAON, India, April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

In today's challenging business and economic ecosystem, organizations are continuously rethinking on employee-employer relation and leaving no stone unturned to achieve workforce engagement and motivation. The appraisal season brings with it an opportunity of growth for employees and a chance for organizations to set the ball rolling for their employees' development - right from salary increments, bigger and challenging roles to other benefits including professional and personal development, flexibility, work life balance etc.

It is rightly said that employee growth is a sign of organization's growth and the companies have been generously rewarding their people realizing the fact that they are the ones driving this growth. But the big question is: can only the increments and salary hikes stimulate employee's development and company's growth?

It's the age of millennials - a new generation of employees who will account for 75% of the workforce by 2025 and research shows that they are not motivated only by money. They are attracted to employers who can offer more than merely good salaries; a culture beyond just increments.

The 40th Hindustan Times Shine HR Conclave - Gurgaon Edition poses the following questions to HR leaders:

  • What offerings are required to be made to keep this dynamic race of millennials - motivated and engaged - apart from increments?
  • Are we sure that the good old tools of employee benefits have been leveraged properly and successfully implemented?
  • Is it the time to re-define these benefits to make it more meaningful for the millenials than what has been traditionally offered?

In a survey report by PwC, the millennials' desire to learn and progress is apparent in their view of the benefits offered by employers. They have valued - training and development, healthcare and wellness programs, maternity/paternity benefits, loans/borrowing options, child care, greater vacation allowances, rewarding pension and retirement funding programs, flexible working opportunities - over mere financial benefits.

Businesses, today, need to ensure that they understand the millennial generation and are acting to attract and inspire the best of them. It's important for employers to rethink and redefine their rewards framework and offer an appropriate mix of - compensation and fringe benefits - providing a convincing value proposition to its employees and at the same time aligning the reward strategy with business objectives.

Shine.com, aims to create a platform for the HR fraternity that enables everyone, right from strategic decision makers to young HR millennial, to connect with each other and promote thought leadership. Through the 40th Shine HR Conclave being organized at Gurgaon, Shine.com wants the HR fraternity to rethink over their rewards framework. There is a great opportunity for Gurgaon to evaluate the employee investments thereby creating an employee-friendly culture, ultimately leading to boost jobs in Delhi NCR.
