The reconductoring order marks Transrail's EPC foray into The Middle East Region
Integrated Power Transmission and Distribution Company, Transrail Lighting Limited, announced that it has received its maiden order from The Middle East to execute conductor replacement for various 132 kV transmission lines in and around the capital city of Jordan on turnkey basis. The order, worth approximately USD 17.23 Mn, is awarded to Transrail by National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), Jordan.

The contract entails reconductoring of old transmission line with the new high-end ACCC (Aluminium Conductor Composite Core) Conductor. ACCC conductors are light weight and have higher current carrying capacity. The project involves replacement of two Lots of 132 kV lines with Lot 1 consisting of 4 lines aggregating 44 kilometers and Lot 2 with 5 lines aggregating 57 kilometers.
