The 11th edition of the three-day mega B2B, Gem & Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE 2015) was today flagged off in Chennai. The exhibition is being held at Chennai Trade Centre till March 22nd, 2015. In addition to the Indian film actress Ms. Esha Deol, the dignitaries present at the inaugural session included Mr. Yogesh Mudras, UBM India, Mr. Rajesh Vummidi and Mr. Jayantilal Challani.

300 exhibitors - retailers, artisans and wholesalers - from all over India and international markets are showcasing their product offerings ranging from gold, diamonds, pearls, gem stones, silver and allied machinery products. Participation from the South Indian market is one of the major draws with regard to gold jewellery this year. In addition to Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and other potential II and III tier cities in India, the exhibition has representation from Turkey, Dubai, Hong Kong and Thailand, thus substantiating the international reach and presence of GJIIE 2015.
Some of the exhibitors at GJIIE 2015 are Mohanlal Jewellers Pvt. Ltd., Laxmi Jewellery, Nakoda Unique Gold, Angel Gold, Jai Gulab Dev Jewellers, Mamraj Musadilal Jewellers, P. Mangatram Jewellers Pvt. Ltd., JKS Jewels Pvt Ltd, Mukti gold, Krizz, N D Diamonds Pvt Ltd, Emerald Jewel Industry India Ltd, and Prakash Gold Palace Pvt. Ltd. amongst others.
The machinery section hosted in association with MSME & BIS, for the first time at GJIIE, has over 80 machinery manufacturer exhibitors and will see participation from Germany, Italy, and Japan in addition to local counterparts, and will also be conducting workshops and seminars.
The GJIIE Diamond Pavilion, another unique pavilion, will feature the latest designs in loose, uncut and diamond jewellery. The diamond pavilion, with a growth of 20% in exhibitors this year, boasts of participation by leading players from Gujarat, Mumbai, Hong Kong amongst others, with their showcase to large delegations from regions such as Trichy, Madurai and Pondicherry.
Other event highlights include buyer-seller meets, luxury pavilions, technical seminars, and the fashion show night.
GJIEE 2015 will also host 'Kaarigar Awards' to honour and recognise the unspoken heroes of the jewellery trade - the traditional 'kaarigars', who painstakingly create beautiful pieces through their craftsmanship.
