A unique initiative by UBM India, the RJGA along with Ernst & Young as process advisors, drew out the best of the country's talent in the industry through a methodical, laborious process of selection by an eminent jury who sifted through 450 nominations, which is almost 40 percent increase from the previous edition of RJGA. The extensive award categories are crafted, keeping in mind the diverse activities of the retail jewellery industry.
With more than 500 jewellery retailers, manufacturers, HNIs and the capital's fashionable set in attendance, the awards night also comprised a fashion show mirroring the trends of the season with show stoppers like actors Gauhar Khan, Mannara Chopra, Ms. Roshmitha Harimurthy (Miss Diva 2016) and Ms. Pankhuri Gidwani (Miss India 2nd Runner up 2016).
The Retail Jewellers Guild Awards saw two jury meets with two separate jury panels, who meticulously went through each and every entry during the sessions coordinated by EY, in order to derive the respective winners. The esteemed jury panels comprised eminent names from the industry such as Bharat Takhtani, Gunjan Suri, Laksh Pahuja, Mahender Tayal, Nirupa Bhatt, Parag Agrawal, Poonam Soni, Prerna Makharia, Rhea Nasta, Shanoo Bijlani and Varuna Jani.
The highlight of RJGA 2017 was India's first ever Walk of Fame for the Jewellery Industry - an exclusive showcase of master pieces by eminent brands including BR Designs, Dwarkadas Chandumal, Fiona Solitaires, Nish Jewels, Ranujee Jewellers and Zar Jewels.
