The University of New South Wales, one of Australia's leading research and teaching universities, has actively been building partnerships in India with the aim of offering Indian students world-class education through its high-quality teaching programs, research activities and strong international industry ties.
In developing new ideas and promoting practical knowledge, students from India get to share, debate and research learnings with the global community of students and faculty which includes open days and public forums on issues such as the environment, healthcare and global politics and much more. The proposition is strongly not focused on only academic excellence but experiential excellence that prepare students to be employable in the modern workplace which is the need of the hour.
UNSW Sydney that ranks 28th in the world according to the 2019 QS World University Graduate Employability Rankings and are the highest paid graduates amongst all of the Australian universities. Needless to say, doing the mundane stereotypical education fair was not for UNSW.
Keeping in mind the feedback from students, partners and the educational community, the team at UNSW decided they would have an experiential roadshow across 4 cities in India as a part of UNSW Sydney's India Open Day across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Pune.
With an overarching theme of Employability, which the university has constantly focused on, the roadshows provided students of these cities highlights of life on UNSW Sydney's campus, skill gaps and guidance to prepare them for better career prospects.
40 representatives of faculties, students, alumni and support staff of UNSW Sydney were flown in to offer valuable insights and information on programmes, scholarships, careers and placements along with a series of engaging master classes, seminars, and presentations.
Students and parents were provided with a tech-led experience at with stunning visuals of Sydney on high-definition screens. Following interactions and seminars with faculties, they were taken through a host of interactive zones like The Hexagon Stand - an in-house app designed, to discover the area of study that suits them best; LinkedIn Zone - where experts helped create a brilliant LinkedIn profile or update an existing one; VR Zone - for a virtual tour of the UNSW Sydney campus and surroundings; and the Green Screen Zone - to get photographed against the beautiful landscape of Sydney, to enhance their experience at the roadshow.
